Learn to Meditate and Energise

Ananda Sangha is a community for self-realisation where like-minded souls can come together and support each other’s spiritual growth. All are welcome to come and learn these meditation and energisation techniques as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda.

“Peace is an early meditative experience. Peace, like a weightless waterfall, cleanses the mind of all anxiety and care, bestowing heavenly relief.” —Paramhansa Yogananda

“Daily meditation will lead you to the peace you’ve been seeking so long. The peace of your soul awaits you at the center of your own being.” —Swami Kriyananda

Why Meditate?

Paramhansa Yogananda wrote, “Meditation is the highest form of activity a person can perform.” It is one of the most natural and rewarding of all human activities. It gives direct, intuitive experience of higher consciousness, and is the cornerstone of deep spirituality. It also brings balance, rest and a growing inner peace. While its highest purpose is to help us awaken our inner, spiritual nature, the benefits to body and mind are well established by medical research.

Practiced on a regular basis, meditation produces profound results on all levels of your being—physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It connects you with your own inner powers of vitality, clarity and love.

You will learn how to:

  • Reduce tension and stress at will
  • Feel happier, more relaxed and at peace with yourself
  • Improve your health, mental clarity and vitality
  • Develop a more intuitive, heart-centered way of life
  • Discover and explore your inner spiritual nature

Ananda Sangha: A Spiritual Community

Whether you are interested in managing stress or in exploring the spiritual side of meditation, you will feel at home in an Ananda class. Our small, personalized classes provide a supportive learning environment, with plenty of time for individual questions and in-depth exploration. Each class includes guided and silent practice time in a comfortable, quiet and uplifting environment. You will learn a proven, safe and effective meditation technique used by millions of people for millennia.

Ananda has been teaching meditation for nearly 50 years. All of Ananda’s acharyas are highly trained with many years of personal meditation experience.

Based on the Teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda

Ananda Sangha is a global movement, a worldwide non-profit organization, based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, who showed how everyone can realise God in their daily lives as a tangible, loving reality. Ananda was founded in 1968 by Yogananda’s direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda, one of the leading spiritual teachers in the world today. He left his body on 21 April, 2013 and his spiritual successor is Nayaswami Jyotish.

Ongoing Support

Ananda Sangha Chennai offers regular group meditations throughout the week as well as Sunday Satsangs, Healing Prayer Angels, Ananda Choir, Kirtans and practical How-To-Live classes. If you would like kriya initiation, our acharyas will personally guide you in the steps along the way. Support is also found in the friends and members of Ananda Sangha Chennai. Our spiritual community gives an opportunity to connect more deeply with others.

“In contrast to the slow, uncertain ‘bullock cart’ theological path to God, Kriya may justly be called the ‘airplane’ route.” —Paramhansa Yogananda
