Nayaswami Dharmarajan discovered Autobiography of a Yogi as a college student in 1996. The spiritual truths in that book strongly attracted him, as did their many applications to daily life, as taught by Swami Kriyananda. After completing a master’s degree in computer science from MIT, Dharmarajanji joined Ananda full-time, where he has worked as a school teacher, meditation teacher, corporate trainer and spiritual director. Nayaswami Dharmini became a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda in Silicon Valley, CA while working as an electrical engineer. Strongly attracted to the spiritual life and meditation, she moved into the Ananda Palo Alto community and soon after began working for Ananda Sangha. Dharminiji teaches classes in meditation and the path of kriya yoga in addition to sharing her love of Swami Kriyanandaji’s and Yoganandaji’s music through playing flute, singing and directing the choir. She also worked for a few years as a personal secretary to Swami Kriyananda. Dharminiji has been a member of Ananda Sangha for nearly 25 years. (See videos by Dharminiji.)
Nayaswamis Dharmarajan and Dharmini lived at Ananda India from 2006 – 2010. Based in Gurgaon, they traveled all over India and led the meditation groups in Bangalore and Noida — each group has since grown into a full-fledged meditation center. They were serving as the Spiritual Directors of Ananda’s community in Los Angeles when they were asked by Nayaswami Kriyananda to move back to India to start Ananda Chennai in July of 2013.
Dharmarajanji and Dharminiji are kriyacharyas and have been authorized by Nayaswami Jyotish, Ananda Sangha’s Dharmacharya, to give initiation into the advanced meditation technique of Kriya Yoga.
